Supply-chain security certification body
The Thai Customs Department division that operates Thailand's Authorized Economic Operator certification under the World Customs Organization SAFE Framework of Standards. The scheme began as a 2009 pilot for exporters, extended to importers and customs brokers in 2012, and reached full implementation in 2013. As of September 2024 there were 405 certified AEOs in Thailand — 207 importers/exporters and 198 customs brokers. Thailand has signed AEO Mutual Recognition Arrangements with Hong Kong Customs (2015), Korea Customs Service (2016), Singapore Customs (2016), Australian Border Force (2021), Japan Customs (2022), New Zealand Customs Service (2023), and the ASEAN AEO MRA (2023).
